Move your client work from Asana to Workspace369.

Asana is a polished work-management platform: tasks, timelines, portfolios, goals and automations for any kind of team. Personal is free for up to 2 users, Starter is $13.49 a user a month and Advanced $30.49 on monthly billing ($10.99 and $24.99 billed yearly), with no 1-user paid plan. If your business runs on client work and the client side (records, proposals, invoices and a client portal) lives in custom fields or other tools, Workspace369 gives it to you ready-made, with seats included in the plan. Asana exports any project as CSV or JSON. There is no Asana importer in Workspace369. What it has is AI Import, which maps your spreadsheet columns and shows what it will cost before it writes anything. Asana prices were checked on its own pricing page on October 23, 2026.

14-day free trial. Card required. After the trial: $74/month for Voyager. Renews automatically every month until you cancel. Cancel anytime in Settings → Billing.

The honest part first

What moves, what doesn't

There is no one-click import from Asana, and Workspace369 does not claim one. Client lists move through AI Import; projects and tasks are set up again.

Moves with you

  • Your client list, as clients. If you track clients in an Asana project, open the drop-down next to the project title, hover over Export/Print and choose CSV. AI Import maps the columns to client records, and you review the mapping first. If the list lives in your accounting tool or a spreadsheet, export it from there.
  • Product, proposal or invoice lists. Export those projects or spreadsheets the same way. AI Import reads files of products, invoices and proposals.
  • The cost, before you commit. The import shows its AI usage estimate before it starts, so nothing runs on a surprise bill.

You re-create these

  • Projects and tasks. Asana’s CSV export gives you each project’s tasks with their fields, but AI Import doesn’t create projects or tasks. Set up your active projects again; Workspace369 has tasks and subtasks with list, Kanban and calendar views on every plan, and Gantt views and task dependencies from Voyager.
  • Portfolios and goals. Workspace369 has a portfolio overview of your projects from Voyager, but no company goals like Asana’s. Keep the exports for your records, and track delivery through projects, the team calendar and reports.
  • Rules and forms. Rebuild your key rules as workflows and your forms as intake forms or funnels. Email automations run on every plan, and SMS steps start on Voyager.

No lock-in either way: the Workspace369 workspace owner can request a full export of the workspace data. In Asana, project export works on every plan, but a full export of the organization is for super admins on Enterprise+ or Legacy Enterprise. Moving to the free Personal plan removes paid features such as custom fields, timeline view and task dependencies, so export before you downgrade.

The seat math

Per-user pricing against included seats

Asana charges per user, with no 1-user paid plan, and sells seats in steps: one at a time from 2 to 5 users, then in 5s up to 30. Workspace369 plans include a set number of seats, with extra seats at $10 from Voyager.

Prices checked October 23, 2026 on the vendors’ own pages, all on monthly billing. Asana prices count the seats you must buy at each team size; Personal is free for up to 2 users.

Team sizeAsana StarterAsana AdvancedWorkspace369
1 person$26.98 (2-seat minimum)$60.98 (2-seat minimum)$29 (Cadet, 1 seat)
2 people$26.98$60.98$74 (Voyager, 2 seats)
3 people$40.47$91.47$84 (Voyager $74 + 1 extra seat at $10)
5 people$67.45$152.45$104 (Voyager $74 + 3 extra seats at $10)
6 people$134.90 (10 seats)$304.90 (10 seats)$114 (Voyager $74 + 4 extra seats at $10)
8 people$134.90 (10 seats)$304.90 (10 seats)$134 (Voyager $74 + 6 extra seats at $10)

20 people$269.80$609.80$249 (Specialist $149 + 10 extra seats at $10)

Against Starter, Asana costs less for teams of up to 5 and at 9 or 10 people, and Workspace369 costs less at 6 to 8 people and from 11 to 20, where Asana’s 5-seat steps kick in. Against Advanced, Workspace369 costs less at every size in the table except 2 people. The comparison is not like for like: Asana’s pricing page doesn’t list client invoicing, proposals or a client portal, which Workspace369 includes on every plan. Step by step

The switching checklist

Seven steps, in order.
  1. Export what you need from Asana

Export each project you want to keep: open the drop-down next to the project title, hover over Export/Print, and choose CSV or JSON. Export your client list the same way if it lives in an Asana project, and do it before you downgrade.

  2. Start the trial and set up your services and prices

The 14-day trial gives you time to move. Add your services, packages and rates first so proposals and invoices take minutes afterwards.

  3. Run AI Import for your clients

Upload the CSV or Excel files. AI Import maps your columns, you review the mapping, and the AI usage estimate is shown before you start.

  4. Set up your active projects

Recreate the projects you are delivering now, with tasks, subtasks, due dates and estimates.

  5. Add your team and set permissions

Seats are included in the plan, with extra seats at $10 a month from Voyager. You can limit a contractor to the clients assigned to them.

  6. Invite clients to the portal

Send proposals, share files and invoices, and let clients follow along in the client portal instead of a guest account.

  7. Downgrade or cancel Asana once you’ve moved

Keep Asana until your exports are saved and your team works in Workspace369, then cancel or move to Personal if one or two people still use it.

Fair is fair

Stay on Asana if…

  • Most of your work is internal. Asana is built for any team’s projects, portfolios and goals. If clients rarely touch the work and you don’t bill from it, Asana covers more ground.
  • You are a small team on Starter. For up to 5 people, and at 9 or 10, Asana Starter costs less than Workspace369, and Personal is free for up to 2 users. Workspace369 starts at $29, with a 14-day free trial and no free plan.
  • You run on goals, resource management and proofing. Asana lists portfolios, goals, resource management and approvals with proofing on Advanced. Workspace369 has a portfolio overview of projects from Voyager and a team workload view on Commander, but no company goals, resource management or proofing.
  • Your clients already work as Asana guests. Asana lists unlimited free guests from Starter. Workspace369’s client portal, on every plan, gives clients their files, invoices and messages and lets them sign proposals and contracts.

FAQ

Switching questions, answered straight

Is there an Asana importer?

No. Workspace369 has no Asana-specific importer and no one-click import. What it has is AI Import: you upload a CSV or XLSX of clients, products, expenses, invoices or proposals, it maps the columns, and you review the result. Projects and tasks are set up again.

How do I export my data from Asana?

Open the drop-down menu next to a project’s title, hover over Export/Print, and choose CSV or JSON. Asana lists project export on every plan, and you can also export a search view or My Tasks. A full export of the whole organization, as JSON, is for super admins on Enterprise+ or Legacy Enterprise.

Is Asana cheaper than Workspace369?

It depends on team size. On monthly billing, Asana Starter ($13.49 a user) costs less for teams of up to 5 and at 9 or 10 people, and Workspace369 costs less at 6 to 8 people and from 11 to 20, because Asana sells seats in steps of 5 above 5 users. Against Advanced ($30.49 a user), Workspace369 costs less at every team size except 2 people. Asana’s pricing page doesn’t list client invoicing, proposals or a client portal; Workspace369 includes them on every plan.

Does Workspace369 have time tracking like Asana Advanced?

Yes, on every plan. Workspace369 has timers, manual entries and weekly timesheets with approvals, and turns billable hours into invoices. Asana lists native time tracking on Advanced, and time tracking through integrations on lower plans. Time entries don’t come across, so keep Asana’s exports for your records.

What does AI Import cost?

It counts toward your workspace’s AI usage, and the AI usage estimate is shown before you start the import, so you can decide before anything runs. AI usage is separate from email credits.

Am I locked in to Workspace369?

No. The workspace owner can request a full export of the workspace data and can delete the workspace, with a 24-hour grace period to cancel the deletion.

Ready to make the move?

Start the trial, run the checklist above, and cancel Asana once your exports are saved and your team is working in Workspace369.
