Switch from Teamwork.com

Move your client work from Teamwork.com to Workspace369.

Teamwork.com is project management built for client work: free for up to 5 users and 5 projects, then $13.99 a user a month on Basics and $29.99 on Accelerate with monthly billing ($9.99 and $24.99 billed yearly). Invoices from logged time start on Accelerate, and quotes and the CRM pipeline on Optimize, which is priced on request. Workspace369 puts the client record, proposals, projects, time, invoices and a client portal on every plan, with seats included. Teamwork documents exports of people, the project list and task lists, plus a full database backup. There is no Teamwork-specific importer in Workspace369. What it has is AI Import, which maps your spreadsheet columns and shows what it will cost before it writes anything. Teamwork.com prices were checked on its own pricing page on October 18, 2026.

14-day free trial. Card required. After the trial: $74/month for Voyager. Renews automatically every month until you cancel. Cancel anytime in Settings → Billing.

The honest part first

What moves, what doesn't

There is no one-click import from Teamwork.com, and Workspace369 does not claim one. Client details move through AI Import; projects and tasks are set up again.

Moves with you

  • Client contacts, as clients. In Teamwork.com, open People, then click the three dots and choose Export to Excel. The file lists your users and contacts. AI Import reads XLSX, maps the client contacts to client records, and you review the mapping first.
  • Your project list, for reference. From the projects list view, export All Projects as CSV or Excel, with company, owner, dates, health and custom fields. Use it as your checklist for setting projects up again.
  • The cost, before you commit. The import shows its token cost before it starts, so nothing runs on a surprise bill.

You re-create these

  • Projects, task lists and tasks. Teamwork exports task list reports per project as CSV or Excel, with logged and estimated time, but AI Import doesn’t create projects or tasks. Set up your active projects again; task dependencies and Gantt views start on Voyager.
  • Time logs and invoices. AI Import doesn’t import time entries. Invoice any open billable time in Teamwork before you switch, and keep the task list reports for your records.
  • Forms, automations and templates. Rebuild your request forms as intake forms and your key follow-ups as workflows. Email automations run on every plan, and SMS steps start on Voyager.

No lock-in either way: the workspace owner can request a full export of the workspace data. Teamwork.com’s full backup (Settings, then Export) is a raw MySQL copy that can’t be opened in Excel, so take the spreadsheet exports above as well before you cancel.

The seat math

Per-user pricing against included seats

Teamwork.com charges per user: $13.99 a month on Basics and $29.99 on Accelerate, on monthly billing. Workspace369 plans include a set number of seats, with extra seats at $10 from Voyager.

Prices checked October 18, 2026 on the vendors’ own pages, all on monthly billing. Teamwork.com also has a Free plan for up to 5 users and 5 projects.

Team sizeTeamwork BasicsTeamwork AccelerateWorkspace369
1 person$13.99$29.99$29 (Cadet, 1 seat)
2 people$27.98$59.98$74 (Voyager, 2 seats)
3 people$41.97$89.97$84 (Voyager $74 + 1 extra seat at $10)
5 people$69.95$149.95$104 (Voyager $74 + 3 extra seats at $10)
10 people$139.90$299.90$149 (Specialist, 10 seats)
13 people$181.87$389.87$179 (Specialist $149 + 3 extra seats at $10)
20 people$279.80$599.80$249 (Specialist $149 + 10 extra seats at $10)

Teamwork charges per user, so its cost grows with every person you add. Workspace369 costs less than Teamwork Accelerate, the first plan with invoicing, at every team size in the table except 2 people ($74 against $59.98); for 5 people, it is $104 against $149.95. Teamwork Basics costs less from 1 to 12 people, and Workspace369 costs less from 13 people ($179 against $181.87). Basics doesn’t include invoicing, and quotes and the CRM pipeline start on Optimize, which is priced on request. Source: Teamwork.com pricing, checked October 18, 2026.

Step by step

The switching checklist

Seven steps, in order.
  1. Invoice open time in Teamwork.com

On Accelerate and up, bill any logged, uninvoiced time first. On Basics, which has no invoicing, export the time with your task list reports and bill it from Workspace369.

  2. Export what you need

Export People to Excel, the All Projects list as CSV, and a task list report for each active project. An administrator can also download a full backup from Settings, then Export, once a day.

  3. Start the trial and run AI Import for your clients

Upload the people export. AI Import maps the columns to client records, you review the mapping, and the token cost is shown before you start.

  4. Set up your active projects

Recreate the projects you are delivering now from your project list, with tasks, due dates and estimates.

  5. Add your team and set permissions

Seats are included in the plan, with extra seats at $10 a month from Voyager. You can limit a contractor to the clients assigned to them.

  6. Move proposals, time and invoicing over

Send new work as proposals, track time with timers and weekly timesheets, and turn approved billable hours into invoices clients can view in the portal.

  7. Cancel Teamwork.com once you’ve moved

Keep Teamwork until your exports are saved and open projects have moved, then cancel the paid plan.

Fair is fair

Stay on Teamwork.com if…

  • Resource planning is the job. Teamwork lists workloads and live capacity on Accelerate, and scheduling by role or skill with tentative work on Optimize. Workspace369 has a team workload view on Commander and a shared team calendar on every plan, but no role- or skill-based scheduling.
  • You only need project management for a small team. Teamwork’s Free plan covers up to 5 users and 5 projects. Workspace369 starts at $29, with a 14-day free trial and no free plan.
  • Your clients mark up and approve files inside the project. Teamwork lists client users in projects and file approvals with Proofs. Workspace369’s client portal, on every plan, gives clients their files, invoices and messages and lets them sign proposals and contracts, but it has no file-proofing tool.
  • You connect Salesforce or NetSuite, or need SSO. Teamwork lists those integrations on Optimize and single sign-on on Enterprise.

FAQ

Switching questions, answered straight

Is there a Teamwork.com importer?

No. Workspace369 has no Teamwork-specific importer and no one-click import. What it has is AI Import: you upload a CSV or XLSX of clients, products, expenses, invoices or proposals, it maps the columns, and you review the result. Projects and tasks are set up again.

How do I export my data from Teamwork.com?

Teamwork’s help pages cover several exports: People to Excel from the People area, the project list as CSV, Excel, HTML or PDF from the projects list view, and task list reports per project as CSV or Excel, with logged and estimated time. An administrator can also create a full MySQL backup from Settings, then Export, once a day; it is a raw database copy, not a spreadsheet.

Is Teamwork.com cheaper than Workspace369?

It depends on the plan. Teamwork Basics, at $13.99 a user a month, costs less from 1 to 12 people but doesn’t include invoicing. Accelerate, the first plan with invoices from logged time, is $29.99 a user, and Workspace369 costs less at every team size from 1 to 20 except 2 people ($74 against $59.98); for 5 people, it is $104 against $149.95. Quotes and the CRM pipeline start on Teamwork’s Optimize plan, which is priced on request; Workspace369 includes proposals and the CRM on every plan.

Can I bring my projects and tasks across?

Not automatically. AI Import doesn’t create projects or tasks, so set up your active projects again, using your project list and task list exports as the checklist. Workspace369 has tasks and subtasks, list, Kanban and calendar views on every plan, and task dependencies and Gantt views from Voyager.

What does AI Import cost?

It uses your workspace’s AI tokens, and the token cost is shown before you start the import, so you can decide before anything runs. Tokens are separate from email credits.

Am I locked in to Workspace369?

No. The workspace owner can request a full export of the workspace data and can delete the workspace, with a 24-hour grace period to cancel the deletion.

Ready to make the move?

Start the trial, run the checklist above, and cancel Teamwork.com once your exports are saved and your open projects have moved.
