Client portals in your brand, and a private portal for each client

Client portals carry your logo and colors, let you choose the sections and layout, and every client can now have a private portal of their own.

Portals that carry your logo, colors and layout

Client portals now carry your logo and accent color, let you choose which sections show and in what layout, and every client can have a private portal of their own. It is on every plan and is for anyone who shares projects, task boards or client pages with customers.

Project and task board portals show your logo and accent color on the sign-in screen, in the sign-in code email and on the portal itself, so your client sees your brand from the first click. The logo comes from your workspace details. For the accent, type a hex color like #1F6FEB or use your theme color.

Choose what each portal shows. Turn sections on or off, drag them into the order you want, and pick a single column, two columns or tabs. A section you hide is never sent to your client's browser.

The sections depend on the page. A project portal can show Milestones, Events, Team, Files, Invoices, Comments and Budget. A task board has header sections for Description, Last activity and Stats, with Search and filters always below them. A client portal has modules such as Action items, Projects, Boards, Retainers, Proposals, Change orders and Contracts.

Set the defaults once under Settings, Client portal, for projects, boards and clients. Every shared project, board or client portal starts with them, and each one can still change its own in its sharing sheet.

  • Logo and accent color on sign-in, code email and portal
  • Single column, two columns or tabs
  • Show, hide and reorder sections
  • Task boards get their own header sections
Add your logo, pick a brand color and choose a layout, and the portal preview follows. Example data.

A private portal for each client

Give any client their own portal that shows only what you choose to share, including contracts waiting for their signature. Visitors sign in with a code sent to their email, so the page is always private.

Open a client and go to Client portal. Access is set to Private, email code required, so only that client's email, its contact people and the people you add can sign in. Invite someone by email or choose from the people already saved on the client. To cover everyone, share with the whole company: it is one grant, so anyone you add to the client later gets access too.

Each person gets a role: Can view, Can comment, Can collaborate, Can contribute or Full access, or a custom set from comment, upload files, view invoices, add tasks, comment on tasks and move tasks between statuses. You can resend an invite, set an expiry date, suspend access, or regenerate the link, which stops the old one at once.

A new Share permission decides which teammates can create and manage client portals, so you control who can open one up. Projects and boards can also be shared with anyone who has the link, in a view-only page that can never comment, upload or change anything.

  • Private by email code, per client
  • Roles from Can view to Full access, or a custom set
  • Expiry date, suspend, and regenerate link
  • Share with the whole company in one grant
