Import projects, and any tasks, from Dubsado, HoneyBook and more

AI Import now brings in projects as a sixth data type: each project arrives with its client, dates and budget, plus any tasks in the file, after you review it.

Import projects with their tasks

Switching from Dubsado, HoneyBook or another tool? AI Import now brings in projects as well as clients, products, invoices, proposals and expenses. Open Clients → Import data, choose Projects, and upload a CSV or Excel projects export from Dubsado, HoneyBook, Bonsai, 17hats, Moxie or a spreadsheet. AI suggests the tool it came from and the data type, and you can correct either before the import starts.

Each project is read with its client, status, dates and budget, and any tasks in the file become the project's to-dos. Tasks come across when the file has a Tasks column or one row per task, and a Dubsado projects export usually has none. In a Dubsado export, Lead reads as Planning, Job as In Progress and Archived: Yes as archived. A client you already have is linked to its projects, and a new client is created when there is no match. Very long task lists are trimmed, and the review step flags a project when that happens.

The review step shows one card per project: its name, client, status and dates, budget and number of tasks, with an Archived tag where it applies. Switch a project off to leave it out, or edit its name or budget, and nothing is saved until you import. When it finishes, View Projects opens your project list. Like every import it uses AI usage, and you need permission to import and to create projects. It is on all plans, on the web app now and comes to the iPhone app with its next update.

  • Projects is the sixth data type in Import data
  • Tasks in the file become the project's to-dos
  • Dubsado Lead and Job map to Planning and In Progress, and archived projects stay archived
Import a projects export, review each project with its client, dates, budget and tasks, then commit them. Example data.

Quick answers

Can I import projects from Dubsado or HoneyBook into Workspace369?
Yes. In Clients → Import data choose Projects and upload a CSV or Excel projects export from Dubsado, HoneyBook, Bonsai, 17hats, Moxie or a spreadsheet. You review every project before anything is saved.
What happens to the tasks in my projects file?
Tasks in the file become the project's to-dos, when the file has a Tasks column or one row per task. The review step flags a project whose task list was trimmed.
Does an imported project link to my existing clients?
A client you already have is linked to its projects, and a new client is created when there is no match. Each review card shows the client before you import.
Which plans include project import, and what does it need?
Import is on every plan and uses your AI usage like any AI Import. You need permission to import and to create projects.
How are Dubsado statuses and archived projects handled?
In a Dubsado export Lead reads as Planning and Job as In Progress, and a project marked Archived: Yes imports as archived. Each card shows its status and dates for you to check.
