Where do generative AI and human review appear?
The report distinguishes AI-use-case distribution from process ownership and human participation. These measures describe different denominators; the absence of an in-flow human step does not prove the absence of governance.

Do these figures establish workflow automation ROI?
No. Builder distributions do not measure implementation cost, maintenance or net labor savings. Establish a before-and-after baseline with comparable workload, include review effort, and separate released capacity from cash actually saved.
A department’s share is not a recommended staffing ratio or a forecast of return on investment.
How this report was built
Methodology and limitations
- The table transcribes the original Workato builder chart. The source’s historical sample window remains visible despite the current editorial review date.
- Workspace369 calculates absolute gaps from the two published shares for each function. The formula and both input IDs are included in the downloadable ledger.
- Platform processes, builders and AI use cases have different denominators. The report is not a survey of all companies, and the selected rows must not be pooled into a market adoption rate.
- We excluded ambiguous headline growth and data-operations totals from this edition rather than reconcile differently defined measures without additional evidence.
What these numbers cannot tell you
- Workato’s customer sample is selected by platform use. It does not establish current global, national or small-business automation prevalence.
- The source does not provide item-level raw data or uncertainty intervals. Rounded displayed shares constrain the precision of the derived gaps.
- These historical figures do not measure the impact of Workspace369, justify removing human approvals or demonstrate causal productivity gains.
